I’ve been spending a great deal of the day being creative to this point (read: I haven’t got out of the room much… unless you count a trip to K-Mart), finally returning to the big musical venture I’m writing that has half a script and bits and pieces of a few songs.

I’m happy to report that I have successfully finished the “first draft” of one song from the show… which I’ll refer to on the internet as “Whole Lot of Love,” for now. The melodies alone run about 2:52, when placed together… and that’s not taking into account the music that will come in between the five parts of the song and the dance thrown in between the fourth and fifth part.

Sa-wee-heet.

The way I figure it, I’ll at least have something to show Blake when I get back to the land of the Rock for the summer… and it’s got me working on this script again, which I’ve neglected for a large part of the year. I really hope to have the first draft of the whole show done by the end of the summer, so that I can clean it up a bit during the fall and the winter for submission to the New York Musical Theatre Festival next year.

Hopefully, I’ll get some people to help me out and read the parts at the end of the summer.

I’m certainly hopeful!
