Stacey’s came to visit today!
In honor of said occasion, I actually woke up early today and hit the showers before 11AM (that’s a record, nowadays).
Stacey got here around noon-ish. I took her upstairs and introduced her to the comedy stylings of Brian Regan via his ‘Comedy Central presents…’ TV Special (thanks to LimeWire) and his CD Brian Regan “Live” (which I own). We spent some time watching Family Guy and listening to Stephen Lynch before heading out to enjoy the beautiful day we were blessed with.
We got some food at Times Square Hot Bagels, just past the St. James Theater (I think I always give directions in Midtown based on their relativity to the St. James because that’s the first theater I saw a Broadway show in). After eating a bit, we checked out the Hershey’s Store in Times Square, looking for the oversized or Chocolate Lover’s Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Strangely enough, they had neither (which really sucks because they had advertisements for the Chocolate Lover’s ones outside the store. The bastards.
We took a promenade down to Central Park and hung out there for a while. The Park is a wonderful distraction because it’s the only place you can go in the City to really forget you’re in the City. I think that’s why they have so many trees — to cover up the surrounding skyscrapers. I wonder what the area that we all know and love as New York City looked like before everything was demolished and the City of today was built on top of it.
On the way back from the park, it started raining like crazy, so Stacey and I ducked in to Toys “R” Us to get out of the rain. I looked around for a decent birthday present for Craig, but I couldn’t find anything especially wonderful. After spending time looking through all the cool Star Wars toys, we headed back out and to the hotel. We started watching Monty Python’s Life of Brian, but soon got hungry for dinner. We hit up Chipotle across the street for some tacos & burritos.
After the mexican food, we came back to l’hotel, where we ate donuts and watched TV until her mom came.
It was nice seeing Stacey today. I missed her. I can’t wait to come home in under two weeks — it’s quite exciting. Today was an uber-fun day. Not only was Stacey introduced to Brian Regan, but also Joel Brady, who popped in twice while she was here. She helped me run through my stuff for Catholic in the park, listened to Reefer Madness with me, and helped me with my lines for Inspector Hound.
I love my girlfriend.
