We’re kinda getting down to the wire here, I’m starting to feel the pressure.
Once A Catholic rehearsal went pretty well today. I’m feeling much better about my monologue at the end of the scene. After we were finished “cleaning” up the remainder of the play, we did an Italian Speed-Through. I stumbled my way through it, having to call for lines about a badjillion times throughout. I mean, it was simple enough to do an Italian Speed-Through on A Far Country, because I knew that script inside and out. It was a part of me. But, with Once A Catholic, that’s not quite the case. Oh, well. We had some fun today… as I’m sure we will when we run the show tomorrow.
Inspector Hound was pretty good, as well. I got hurt on that goddamned wheelchair again. I’m getting sick of that. Anyway, we finally blocked the end of the show today — starting with the second run of the card game and going all the way to the end. I’ve got to say, I absolutely love this show! Now that we’re nearing the end, we’re still having a great deal of fun with it. I was able to include a bit of blocking that’s kind of an hommage to Cary’s portrayal of the Inspector at the beginning of the show. It’s a great bit that I’m quite proud of — T seemed really reluctant to let me try it at first… but he seemed supportive of it — he even gave me some more actions to help clean the whole thing up a bit.
Dress rehearsal for Hound tomorrow. Exciting! Should be very interesting. Very interesting indeed.
I’ll finish this tomorrow.
