Allright, figured I’d post quick about the job search (which is still very much under way) while I’ve got the time.

Before I start, I would like to thank a couple of people for going out of their way to try and help me get a job this summer — Justin Grimm-Greenblatt, Ricky Sarkar, Stacey Bone, and Lila Chen, to name a few. I’m so glad to know that you guys are willing to help me out like that. Thank you all!

So, I applied to the Cape Cod-based Christmas Tree Shops, who seem ready to hire me. I went on an interview this past Monday and talked about the terms of my employment there, and they told me they’d get back to me in a week. I must say, they’re all extremely nice people… and they’ve been calling my references to check out my background, so they must be interested. Downside is, I’d be working a lot of evenings for a little over $7 per hour. Either way, it’s something…

It also seems as if I may have procured a job at Active International, where my mom works. It’d only be a temporary thing (until they hire a permanent replacement for this position which recently opened up), but I’d be guaranteed about 40 hours a week at a rate of at least $10/hr.

I just now got back from a second interview at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Things are looking pretty good over there — and I’m seriously thinking about jumping on this opportunity. It’s not a waiter job — I’d be stocking shelves all day at the “Rock Shop” — but it pays better than most jobs in the Rockland area would (just about as much as Active would), I’d get free clothes (and a killer discount), and a flexible schedule… and I’d be set up with a job in the city for school-time. Also, it’s owned by London’s Rank Group… and we all know that I’ve got a lot of love for England. I should know for sure if I have the job late this afternoon.

I’ve got my fingers crossed, but I’m well aware that I might get all three jobs at around the same time — and have to choose. If that were to happen, what do you guys think I should do? Send me an e-mail!
