As you may or may not know — CBGB’s, the birthplace of American punk music, is being forced to close by the landlord whom they’ve rented their space from for the last 31 years. Well, now’s when people can do something about it! CBGB’s is making an attempt to raise money to keep their club in its famous location — and is doing so with a series of charity events (like concerts, etc.).

Why is this important?

Because one was at the Hard Rock Cafe last night.

Approximately half of the restaurant was blocked off so that they could host the party in the main section. All night, we had people coming in who were covered in tattoos, piercings, hair dye, etc. — and it was glorious (although it should be noted that a good 80% of the aforementioned people were probably over the age of 40). The interesting part — the celebrities. I know for a fact that Joe Pantoliano was there, because he walked right in through the front door. Rumor has it that Blondie, Al Pacino, and Robert DeNiro also made appearances.

I think that beats the only other two celebrities I knew of who came to the Hard Rock — Caroline Rhea and Al Snow.

Not that I’m knocking Al Snow or anything.

Oh, and, here’s a note to all of the customers who come in to the Rock Shop during the day — if you’re flipping through a pile of shirts and the first twenty are all the same size, chances are the next twenty will be the same size. Just thought I should let you guys know… because you seem to have a hard time grasping the concept on your own.
